My name is Jonathan and I’ve been blogging on and off for years. my infininte mixtape is the intersection of art and my life, and all the bitter/sweet moments in between.

The New Decadence is a music and arts community I started in 2009 to introduce emerging young artists and musicians to the local (Bay Area) indie scene. Each event is produced pop-up style at different venues around the East Bay and curated around a specific music genre and creative style. Our first show was “Colorful Misfortune” (March 2010 at ERA Art Gallery and Bar), followed by “The New Decadence” (June 2010 / ERA) and “Lust, Lust, Lust” (October 2010 / fiveten studio).

Dreams by Degrees (2001-2006) is a record label I founded to share some of my favorite up-and-coming independent musicians with a worldwide audience. Inspired by 4AD, our concept-based releases combined music, artwork and packaging to create a unique label mythology. Our first series was inspired by the seasons, while our final series was inspired by colors. Dreams by Degrees released the first tracks by Film School, Vetiver, Loquat and others.

During the day, I work as a digital strategist and account manager at agency based in the East Bay. I occasionally teach a concepting / brainstorming course at Miami Ad School.

On weekends, I can be found searching through record bins and plant nurseries around town.
